Copilot Toolbox: Interaction searching & organising web

Background

Copilot is a catch all name for Microsoft's implementation of Large Language Model (LLM) AI implementations. It is currently based around the Open-AI GPT engines and other associated technologies.

Generative AI is currently a very hot topic and most companies are interested to see how this burgeoning technology can help improve their business processes. An issue we may find with this type of AI is that you have to be careful about what and how you ask it for information to ensure that you get back both accurate, and comprehensive answers. In this style of post I am recording interactions that I've had with Copilot to chart and document what types of interactions are successful and which may not be.

    Interaction Summary

Technology: Copilot Pro in Windows Edge bar

    Date: Feb 2024

    Prompts:

    • Compare X With Y
    • Make that into a table
    • Question about data
    • Additional information and request to draw a conclusion

Scenario: I watched a video about the newly released Retroid 4 Android based gaming handheld and with an upcoming trip it quite took my fancy as being quite powerful and at a good price point.

I then remembered that I had some old phones lying around, and an Xbox style game controller that I could attach to my phones.

I asked Copilot to help compare the specs of the machines to help decide if I should save my money...

Usages: Comparing data, Building tables, Updating and modifying comparisons, Asking for a conclusion

    Outcome: 8/10

It helped produce some accurate tables, finding the right devices I was talking about then compiling the data into categories and making a table. It included data about different models of phone based on US vs rest of world specs and when asked helped draw a a sensible conclusion.
